What are organic food products?

Organic produce is free from synthetic fertilizers, pesticides, sewage sludge and confinement feeding. There is no use of growth hormones and no animal testing. These crops are allowed to grow naturally, so farmers do not use chemicals to prevent weeds or pests.

Organic food does not contain synthetic pesticides, fertilers, hormones or antibiotics. Organic farmers aren't allowed to use these substances.

Growing organic crops is an art. There are many ways to safely grow organic crops.

Sustainable agriculture is sometimes called organic farming. This means that organic farming does not use as many resources as conventional methods, but it still provides the essential nutrients needed to sustain life.

Organic farming methods include crop rotations, composting manure and cover cropping. These techniques reduce soil erosion and increase water quality.

They also reduce chemical contamination of waterways. Local farms can be found in cities that raise organic produce.

Two types of certification programs are available for organic products. One is certified by the USDA National Organic Program, and the other is certified by independent certifying agencies. Both require strict conformity to organic standards.

USDA seals or O Seals can be applied to organic products. This symbol indicates that the product meets federal requirements.


What are organic beauty products?

Organic Beauty Products are natural products without synthetic chemicals such as petroleum, parabens, phenoxyethanol, phthalates, and artificial preservatives. These ingredients can be found in many conventional beauty products such as cosmetics, shampoos and perfumes.

Organic beauty products can also be made without animal testing, and they do not contain any genetically altered organisms (GMO).

The USDA defines organic food as "a system which fosters cycle of resources"; it has been used for decades by the USDA to describe foods that are grown without pesticides.

The harmful effects of chemical compounds on our bodies have led to an increase in the demand for ecofriendly beauty products.

These include allergies, cancer, skin irritation, hormonal imbalance, early aging, and skin irritation.

Organic beauty businesses are committed to providing safe, healthy products that consumers can use while protecting the environment.


Are organic foods healthier?

According to the Environmental Working Group's recent report on pesticide residues within foods, organic fruits & vegetables contained nearly half of the pesticides that non-organic varieties. Organic apples had eight times less pesticides than nonorganic apples. However, organic strawberries had four times the amount of pesticides as their conventional counterparts.

Studies have also shown that organic foods reduce the risk of mercury and lead poisoning. For example, one study showed that children who ate organic meat had 33 percent lower blood lead levels than those who didn't consume organic meats. Another study concluded that pregnant mothers should avoid eating conventional fish because of the high levels mercury.

Organic food seems to be safer than the non-organic. Experts recommend eating fresh fruits and veggies whenever possible to reduce the chance of developing cancer.

What happens to your body if you switch to organic products

Organic products do not contain synthetic fertilizers or hormones. They are free-range and come from clean water sources. Organic means that they are free from chemicals and additives. This product was produced by nature and therefore contains no harmful substances.

The term "natural" refers how food is grown. It is usually used to describe foods that haven't been processed into their final form (e.g., fruits). Natural foods are often fresher because they're not subject to heat radiation, chemical preservatives or any other treatment. However, some people believe natural doesn't necessarily mean healthy. Experts agree that organic and conventional foods are very similar. Both types of food are tested for safety, quality, and purity. Organic produce is safer than conventionally produced produce.

Most grocery stores offer organic options. Check with your local market if you want organic meat, poultry, dairy, eggs, and seafood. Some companies sell only organic products; others have separate sections for them. USDA Certified Organic is a non-GMO Project Verified company.

You should avoid eating these items if you are pregnant or nursing. Pesticides are known to affect unborn babies and infants.
